JOSEPH STABILITO is an artist and interior designer working in New York City. His artwork has evolved over many years of growth & exploration, beginning with his first solo exhibit in 1982. His inherent understanding of color displays a confident bravura in works that are equally complex and dramatic.

 In his current work, shadowy glazes cast a surreal backdrop in which organic shapes dip into a watery depth. Inventive shape making and gestural remarks are part of the dialogue. The handling of paint is decidedly expressionist, from an artist who is stellar in his mastery of the medium. At the same time, his interior design work has coincided with his art. His interior projects are spare, classic glamour for today. Yet the same passion for color and scale are evident in rooms that evoke quiet drama and precise detailing.
